Abstract : The preparation of epoxy steroids derived from testosterone, dehydroisoandrosterone and epiandrosterone using m-chloroperbenzoic acid and their biotransformation by the fungus Mucor plumbeus is described. The results reveal an effect of the epoxide on the biotransformation.
