Abstract
:
The subject of the study is based on two main axes. They are the climatic factors of Albaha province which are presented in the solar radiation, temperature, wind, rainfall, relative humidity, evaporation and its impact on the production of grain crops of corn, Syrian corn, wheat and millet. The aim of this study is to find a geographical perception for the spatial relationship between the climatic factors and the production of cereal crops in the study area after having divided it into three sectors. The researcher relied on the descriptive analytical approach which was based on a number of quantitative, statistical and cartographic methods that have been produced with the tool of geographic information systems "ArcGis" and software programmes represented in many charts and graphs. The results of the study found out two climatic regions in the study area. The first one is the humid climate in the mountainous area, which the plant life flourishes in it in the form of rich grass mixed with the trees. The second one is the relative semi-humid climate in the plateau and plain sectors where the plant life takes the form of steppe grass. The results of the study showed that the production of cereal crops in the winter season is on the rise compared to the production of the summer season where relatively low temperatures contribute to the reduction of water consumption of the crops, ensuring access to better production. The study recommended the need to focus on the cultivation of cereal crops in the winter and spring seasons to ensure that they will not be exposed to drought.
